The LAPD’s first openly gay police officer likely will not get a new trial on his claims that he was the victim of retaliation and sexual-orientation discrimination during his second tour of duty with the department, a judge said Tuesday.
However, after hearing arguments on Mitchell Grobeson’s motion for a new trial of his lawsuit, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Dunn said he was taking the matter under submission, as well as the former officer’s request for reinstatement to the LAPD. New Trial Unlikely for Gay Ex-Cop
